I want to make some wine frome the grapes in my garden.

Can anyone give me the best method to get the juice from the grapes and also a good wine recipe.

You will need a press to extract the juice but make sure they are well washed and all traces of the stems are removed.  You will need some demijohns or a fermenting bucket but you need to rack into demijohns (plastic ones off eBay are cheap)

Then boil some sugar in water and add to the juice. add water depending on the recipe of taste you want.  Add some yeast and wait.

Make sure everything is sanitised and well rinsed.  The bucket and demijohns need to be covered and vented.

grapes grown in england almost invariably result in sour wine... I wish you luck but in my experience any home made wine tastes better if you substitute half the sugar in your recipe with 2/3rds that weight in honey. eg if your recipe has 2lb sugar, use instead 1lb sugar and 2/3lb honey.

I've got quince and peach on the go at the moment... waiting to see how that turns out!

Is that because people break the golden rule and crush the grapes to well. If you crush a seed then you will def get a bitter taste.
