if you have a sunroof check the drains for that 
also under the car for any holes

Yes mate, I'm gonna look into that side of things. Just confused as to why it's only the nearside rear footwell carpet that is getting wet??

Everytime I lift up the mat, the carpet is soaking wet.......... Can't see any leaks from the ceiling or any water on the doors, seats, or coming from near the sunroof....

if sunroof drains are blocked wont the water run down the centre pillars? (where seatbelts are)  sorry dont know the pillars name

I thought you said that the front carpet was wet as well On mine and I suspect yours the water was coming in through the  windscreen into the front well and then running to the back well get you screen seal  checked

At first it appeared to be front and rear nearside but just lately it only seems to be the nearside rear thats still getting wet??? Confused lol, cant seem to find where the water is coming in. The carpet is wet mainly by where the rubber mats fix down to the floor and in the centre of the floor if that makes sense??

There is a depression in the floor near the outer sill and the water runs down this from the front to the back therefore untill a lot of water is present the front carpet stays faily dry
