my opinion on Tinley Tech has changed
« on: 18 November 2011, 21:04:35 »

Remember how I said their delivery was very quick. Well it was, however I started fitting the tank in this afternoon and discovered that they have sent the wrong multivalve, one for a 360mm tank as against mine which is 400mm. So that has screwed up the weekend plans, I had booked Monday off to finish it, a waste of time  :'( :'( :'(

Why can't places like this check they are sending the correct stuff, they are supposed to know what they are doing.

It's unusual for them to make mistakes, but we're all human ;) ;)

I find them a little expensive for my taste, but the service is normally very good

Guessing here, the only difference is the length of the feed pipe ?. It is 6mm copper. Suppose I could extend it by a few cms ?. Maybe cut and sleeve with something like microbore pipe ?.  What do you think ?.

Unfortunately I think the float arm is different too. Not worth it IMO ;)

Frustrating as it is... Wait for the right one

Thanks for the offer  :y :y :y

I phoned him up this morning, he did say it could be extended with a piece of pipe, but I'll wait for the correct one to arrive. Its only a couple days delay, and I can hopefully get it all finished so its just a question of bolting in the replacement when it arrives.

Not the only to suffer that, had a torrodial valve supplied for a cylinder tank, didn't twig until it was filled, a lot of gas ended up vented to atmos  >:(
