Cruise module
« on: 01 December 2011, 15:57:26 »

goint to do all the little outstanding jobs tommorow including trying to make cruise work.  A quick question on the modules, I have 2 the one that is fitted if you remove the cable cover you can pull the tape that conects to the bowden cable out as it is free running, the other reoved from a 2.0L last week does not allow this, could this free running mean the geras are goosed or not in mesh and the other is ok and if this is the case this could be the problem.

Sure you fitted the bowden cable correctly? Its possible, with some difficulty, to connected around the wrong way, which causes it to jam.

No its not fitted on the spare so no chance of it twisting, the one I fiited to obtain cruise the tape that it connects to just runs out with no resriction, the spare move a small ammount then locks, which makes me think it is the one I fitted 1st off.

Johhny 2112 as for the rerasons on the post, unit fitted has floopy tape that connects to the bowden spare unit does not, which makes me think one is wrong, if tape plays out thta much it might be to much for the motor to take up.  X reg 2.0L all other parts in place and tested.
