As I was enjoying a quiet pint with my best mate in the Red Lion last night, I saw them gritting Brackley's Market Street (effectively the High Street).  I thought it was quite mild, but then I was wearing my beer coat...

Just making sure they've completely depleted the stocks of grit before the weather gets really bad - I see they learnt from last year, then. ;D

Exactly.

During the snow, not sure I've ever seen Market Street gritted ;D

They mix Molasses in with the salt & grit. It works down to a lower temp than normal salt/grit mix.

And I understand sticks to the underbody of vehicles and is not easy to wash away after all I think it's molasses  in with the grit/salt that resists it easily being washed off the road surface so you can expect the same effect going on under our motors ie a highly corrosive substance in the nooks and cranny's beavering away all year round when it becomes moist /wet possibly the only antidote is a regular hot wash underneath specially of the suspension subframes as the underbody panels on miggy appears to have a substantial coating of underseal I have already given it a thorough inspection
