If it is the park at Wooler you are in the middle of some beautiful countryside.Loads of walks etc. On the Northumberland coast there are fantastic beaches at Seahouses and Beadnell, Druridge Bay etc. These beaches are immaculate and usually deserted, if it was 10 degrees warmer they would be packed. Holy Island ( Lindisfarne ) tides permitting.Visit Alnwick Castle - where the Harry Potter films were made, 30 miles south to Newcastle and you could do a tour of St. James Park ( matches permitting ). Shopping for her indoors at the Metro Centre or better still the centre of Newcastle, Eldon Square or Northumberland Street. At Woodhorn, Ashington you have the mining museum which currently has Nick Parks Wallace and Grommit exhibition on.  Further south ( J63 off the A1M ) you have Beamish open air museum, takes all day to do the tour, trams, totally re-built shops, streets and garages from the last century, this is an excellent day out and about 40 miles south of Wooler. Enjoy. Oh and don't forget the Broon Ale!!

Take plenty of warm clothes and a shovel...have you seen the weather forecast for the Easter weekend?

Go to http://www.metcheck.co.uk and type in Northumberland. (Bank Holiday Monday looks particularly interesting.  :o :o :o)

You'll have a good time though, whatever the weather.  :y

Nearly forgot.
On the coast in a place called AMBLE they have a market on the quayside every Sunday. Now if I am not mistaken they have a rescue display by the RAF using a sea king helicopter on one of the holiday weekends, it might be Easter weekend, check first though. If it is on it,s worth seeing as it happens very close to the pier and quay and you usually get a good soaking from the down draught from the helo. Fish and chips are nice as well, and they heat the pies up properly and don't fry them!!! Please check though as it might be the May bank holiday weekend.

Ahh, what's the road that runs along just south of Hadrian's wall? Can't remember. Anyway, went along it on a kit car tour. After I stopped and tightened my harness to stop me getting thrown out of the driver's seat it was as much fun as I've ever had in a car. Dead straight for miles and undulating wildly. Like a roller coaster ride at <mumble> MPH.

It's a lovely part of the country, bordering the lakes in Cumbria which is equally as stunning, which in itself is enough for me but i don't know about family holidays there, i've only driven through in the truck. :y

Its called the Military Road. The romans built it,but  it has been resurfaced since then though. The A69 is the main road from east to west and is littered with cameras and wagons. The military road runs alongside the 69, look for Greenhead, and follow either way from there.
