loss of heating
« on: 15 December 2011, 15:33:58 »

hi all
in need of somer advice, ive tried doing a search but without luck
basiclayy car starts and drives fine
but when sitting at idle
the temp gauge rises to about a 100 and the air from the heater gets cold
if i rev the engine the temp drops suddenly and i will start to get warm air and the longer i keep it reved the hotter it gets.
the fans ar coming on and the the thermostat seems to be working too
ive flushed the cooling system
what else can i do
thanks in advance

Possible problem with water pump.  Is it possible that your coolant doesn't have enough antifreeze in, and has partially frozen one recent night, leading to bits being torn off the waterpump's impeller?
