end of the year , whole servers busy and system admin applied a policy that changes the sql services system login password

Oh the fun we had when i worked in IT for a large american based company....
Altho we (the swindon based IT staff) had some admin rights on our logins we couldnt change IT policy.
Passwords were required to be changed every 3 months....(IT policy)
So you used to get the odd manager complaining he didnt want to change his password....
So as IT staff we advised him to change it, then change it back.....(you couldnt do that, against IT policy

)
Firstly it would give an error saying password too new to change (i think it was 14 days inbetween password changes....IT policy

) so when the manager complained he couldnt change it back.....we had to advise wait the 14 days then change it back....
14 days later the manager would be back on the phone.....complaining again that he couldnt change it back......(you couldnt reuse your last 6 passwords....IT policy

)
Then the manager finally had to accept he had to keep his new password

Sometimes you used to get the cocky manager that would know we could change his password to whatever we liked and bypass IT policy.....
So we used to make a big deal of it, that he was going to tell the IT department his password but we would change it for him.....they always did tell us.......but then we used to tick the little box that said 'user required to change password on next logon'

And off we would go again
