Audi A6.
« on: 08 January 2012, 21:16:37 »

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/X-REG-AUDI-A6-QUATTRO-SE-ONLY-84-000-MILES-FULL-HISTORY-/300647352369?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item45fffa8831
Obviously like a Mig running wise it's not going to be a budget motor. It's a big V6 so i just wondered if any of you are aware of the car's good points or pitfalls, things to look out for/keep on top of etc.

I like Audis & the mileage/history looks good.

Any ideas/tips etc. please. Guy. :y

Several vids on Youtube showing after effects of prangs. Alot of the ones involving Audis show the cars split in two :'(. Will have a rummage and post linky :y

Seems to be a weak point at the back edge of the floor :-\ a side effect of platform sharing perhaps :-\

Just to clarify, the A6 in the link had collided with a 5 Series BMW which had lost a wheel as a result, but was otherwise in one piece and recongnisable for what it was. Also the driver walked away, but I for one certainly wouldn't want to have been sitting anywhere else in the car :'(

Prefer the A8 myself, often very similar price but loads more metal for your money. Plus you can get the V8 diesel :)

imo only 2 models of A6 worth checking .. quattro turbo 2.7 and s6.. both are expensive gas guzzlers ..

and I cant say they are reliable cars..  :-\

Got into one of these in Germany once and couldn't believe it wasn't a V8. Very nice. Most of the Audi range does  nothing for me at all, though.

they are roomy inside and materials used are good quality.. however even a small problem costs more than an arm and a leg..

dont know how is there but the parts here are 3 times expensive than a miggy..  you can buy them in second hand (slightly less than BMW prices though) but cant run daily..

My brother has a 1.9 diesel A6, he says it's the best car he's ever had. Depends on the person and their opinion I suppose  :)

diesels are another league imo..  but still part prices keep you away.. (and must add I hate diesels and imo its better I drive a shopping trolley!!)

I've decided to let it go. Probably good when it's good but could be a money pit. The mileage & history was tempting though.

I had a modest bid of £625. At that money i'd have been happy to take a chance. With the mileage & history it could run forever or turn into a money pit.

I've been outbid & happy to leave it at that. Save my pennies!!! :y

miggies will be cheaper in every occasion compared to audis..today I also checked honestjoh.co.uk and they approve my hearings..

biggest problem is part prices ..  and those cars cant run without new parts..  anyway they include equal or more number of sensors and electrical wiring than a miggy.. and I even dont start to talk about tiptronic gearboxes and 4 wheel transfer boxes..
