Leicestershire roads ungritted again
« on: 05 February 2012, 08:02:26 »

Once again there was plenty of warnings of a heavy snowfall but were the roads gritted ready for it, or even during it? NO, they were not. As usual this useless depasrtment who are supposed to look after our highways fell far short of their responsibilities. They did appear when the snow had stopped and had started to melt though...............
Its high time some department heads were sent rolling and new blood who would actually take their responsibilites seriously were appointed.
Do drivers know that they should not be using their rear fog lights when it is snowing or raining because they blind the others behind them by their intense light refelcting on the falling snowflakes and raindrops?
Then of course we have I reckon all suffered by having to travel some idiot who should not even be driving on a fine sunny day! I eventually had the misfortune to be stuck behind this empty black cab, who did not go above 5mph after the others in front of me had overtaken it and when I eventally did pass him he had the look of abject fear on his face. What the hell is he doing being a taxi driver? I asked him when he did stop at the rank and he said that he was not used to snow! No, he would rather put others in danger as long as he could get a fare. IDIOT.
Then there were the idiots who have no common sense and believe that pedal to the metal will give traction and that a 4x4 will not get stuck or skid.
In the end I made it there to collect my wife and then back home safely through the heavy snowfall without losing traction once or having any difficulties because as soon as the warning had been given I loaded my car with the items that would serve me in good stead should there have been any unforseen problem.
Anyone else suffered an idiot driver?  :D

I regularly come across them, Like the idiots who try driving up your arse when its snowing thinking that stopping distances are the same.
The number of them who I see losing it when I get a back end twitch makes me laugh

(end of dual carriage way merges into single lane).Funny how they never look in there mirrors for a few miles after you have let them know what a tit they have been. >:(

I was behind a woman in a focus this morning going up a gentle incline. She got slower and slower until she just about got to the top.I didnt however,as I didnt want to get too close I dropped back when she slowed down ::) and then didnt have the momentum to get up the hill. Had to reverse back down about 200 yards and have another go.
