I have a few issues my new Omega
« on: 07 February 2012, 19:11:27 »

I picked up my new omega today it's a 1998 2.5 v6 mini facelift & I have a few questions.

1st It has metal cam covers, are these right?
2nd when sitting on tick-over the temp sits good at 90/95 but get it driving it drops to zero?
but lost no water on the back from Liverpool?
3rd The electric mirrors don't work at all & I noticed that on the mirror switch it doesn't have the small light on it for when you press the heated rear screen, so correct switch or not?
4th The dash is a coffee colour & so is the center console plus the front door card handles but the rear door card handles are cream, shouldn't they be coffee as well?
5th When you select sport mode or turn the TC off I get no notification lights on the dash, should I like I do on my old one?

1) Some idiot has fitted Vectra cam covers to cover up their incompitence in doing a job properly. Keep on top of breathers.
2) Stat shagged
3) Post 98, no more light. Fixing mirrors should be trivial though
4) Age/Year?
5) Bulbs would be first guess, hook dash out, ensure previous owner not played siller buggers to hide probs.

I'm in Brackley on Oxon/Bucks/Northants border if you want a hand, or just someone to talk to :y

4) Age/Year? 1998 Mini facelift
5) Bulbs would be first guess, hook dash out, ensure previous owner not played siller buggers to hide probs. Thats what I thought.

Cheers TB I'll take you up on the offer when I get stuck  :y
