Back from the break ....
« on: 24 March 2008, 20:39:12 »

Back from the bank holiday break - and boy was it wet !!! Guess everyone had the same .. all 4 seasons in 2 hours !! Got towed onto the site and off again !! and left the car at the gates for the duration  :)

First long run out with the new beast and the 'van .. couple of little problems ..

Looks like the breathers/cam covers need doing as a small but annoying leak has started from the drivers side... I'll assume that there is not a huge amount of difference in doing the 3.2 instead of the 2.5 ??? might actually be easier by the looks of things ....

Auxilliary belt tensioner started to make a VERY horrible noise on the way there, however thanks to "Picador Vauxhall" in Southampton - who could not have been more helpful, and even gave me discount using ABS card  !! - A new pulley was obtained for Saturday morning - quick trip to Halfords to buy a small socket set and the job was done by lunchtime - much quieter now  :)

Seem to have developed a  light rattle from "up top", wondering if a lifter is playing up ???

Got home to find that the ELM 327 thingy that I bought off fleabay eventually arrived on Saturday - software is not brilliant but it has already confirmed that the thermostat is FUBAR ... system is actually running at about 78 degrees although she runs great - there I was hoping it was an indication problem ....

Anyone any opinions on better software for these things ??

So a small amount of work building up ... stand by for a lot more questions :)

We got back today after a couple of days away, wet, windy, thick snow Sunday morning, lovely sunshine and bl**dy cold. had to have the electric blanket on all night, and the radiator and the fire.
Club was warm though ;D ;D  ;D
