that was good of him it showsthat the telly dosnot give you the whole story he dose get the piss taken out of him alot though and he still has a smile on his face
Although he started life as a sparks, his job is to be the entertainment....he doesn't take the piss taking to heart.
The week before filming started we (along with all the other trades) had a meeting with Mark Millar (site foreman) to ensure that we had everything (materials, etc) in place and that we ourselves were happy with all the arrangements.
Mark made it quite clear to us that Billy was our "gofer", and we were in charge of all things electrical and to feel free to rip the piss out of him at any time we liked as it would be caught on camera and it was all part of the entertainment for the masses.
they all including yoursef do a brilliant job i do belive you dont get paid for this work if im wrong im sorry but still a ex prog

The Beeb covered our travel expenses and also fed & watered us, but we did the actual labour for free.
If it had been a paying job, it would have set them back £4700 due to the actual work involved (intelligent lighting, CCTV, etc).
To give you an idea of the complexity, a standard 2 bed rewire would have used less than 200 metres of lighting cable......we went through 700 metres of it.
Below is a pic of the bathroom lightswitch so you can see what I mean.
