There is meant to be a sticker on the sidewall when the part worn is sold.  Should be vulcanised on.  Most times, its just a dab of rubber cement and the label falls/pulls off easily....

Had to get a new front tyre on my elite estate a month ago. Searched round for same as was fitted but prices ranged from £140 to £170.  Went to Costco to get the Michelin but was told didn't have it in stock  but had other Michelin's in my size and would have to buy two with same tread pattern at a cost of £117+vat each. Finished up going over road to tyre centre and paying £125 for a Continental. Had to get one as old one had bulge in sidewall and was off to Liverpool the next day. :(

Even at £20 I would take some convincing about part worns. I know plenty of people who are using them without any problems, each to their own.

i recently worked in the tyre game for 10 years since leaving school and have had alot of experience in performance tyres,
i always use budget tyres myself on the road and racetrack (good soft compounds)
i,m sorry to upset some people but i believe most of the time you only pay for the name,
i would never buy michelin,s or pirelli,s as they are over-priced and the compounds are so hard they dont grip,
i,d rather have grip than a good name...

Agree with Marie about E-Tyres. Used them in the past for tyres on my Honda. Good value branded tyres. Would have used them again for my miggy but needed tyre that day and E-Tyres could fit me in till the day after.

Had a new tyre fitted yest, they said "branded or budget?" I said "how much for a bugdet" "£54.99" "how much for your cheapest branded?"
"£90.00 & that's an Avon"  :o :o :o :o
I had the budget  :P
Tyre size 225/55WR16
How does this compare with your experiences :question
I spotted some advertising in the press a few weeks back from Kwik Stitch, sorry Kwik Fit about 25% off if you got 4 premium brand tyres fitted. I personally would not pay for premium tyres as knowing my luck I would run over a broken bottle on the way home.

Last time i did the tyres on the CDX (which are 16") i got 4 toyos and sure i paid less than £350 fitted and balanced

THe 17s on the MV6 are usually Avon ZZ3s i found them ok and cost £68 each delivered from Camskill then £10 to my local tyre place to fit and balance.

BUT the last two i got are Pirelli PZero Rosso Asimmetrico  fully fitted and balanced for £132 considerably less than retail price because i happen to know the Pirelli UK car tyre technical rep  ;)

I've just put a pair of Interstate Sport IXT-1 on the front. I've got them on the back too. £71 each from Black Circles.

I've had no problems and they seem to last well.

Well in my last DTI i was doing about 65000 miles a year so i was going though tyres quite fast and the size that i needed was 225/55/16 and i could get budget for £37 each fitted and i would get about 30000 miles on the front and back plus they did hold the road well.
