30 = 30 +/- 10%

Simple, how can they be discretionary about it? They may as well take the signs down.

It's unfortunate and I've had the same thing (37 for me) and I know I was in the wrong.

Got kids me see? :y

36 in a 30 and i was done, £60 and 3 points. That was in 2002, my licence is now clean.

Tbh it did make me more aware of my speed, and i do keep it down in towns now.

I was super unlucky though... mobile cam van  >:(

Mobile cam van for me too funnily enough. It makes you more careful when you know that they've got those out there as well as the cameras you do know about doesn't it?

Different forces different guidelines. I was invited on a speed awareness course after being clocked at 37 in a 30 last March. Cost £85

I'd take it to court. There's no way a judge could convict you with such mitigating circumstances! ;D ;D ;D ;D
