Bluetooth handsfree
« on: 07 April 2012, 09:29:36 »

Any advice on a handsfree set that I can put with a ccr 2006 and use to connect my iphone too. I used to have a Seat Ibiza with an inbuilt bluetooth via a unit added to the radio. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated

I use an old Nokia CK-7W bluetooth kit in both my Omegas, with audio feed through the stereo. Easy to fit (esp if you have phone prewiring), and dirt cheap off ebay now, £20 for used one?  You only need the main unit, the button, a mic, and a short bit of powerloom. If it comes with correct autoleads lead, bonus!

About 90 mins to fit, as you need to remove glovebox to get to prewiring loom.

Thanks for that have decided to get a new ccr 2006 and the nokia handsfree kit any advice on fitting would be brilliant as I am a novice at these things or is it worth getting a professional to fit it so I have no chance of messing it up.

Easy to fit, you just need an 06-109B Autolead to plug the carkit staight into the standard plug behind the glovebox. Usually better if you use the Nokia MIC provided with the kit rather than the GM item though.

I use an old Nokia CK-7W bluetooth kit ...

One of those is fitted into the Mv6 I've just bought, it seems to work very well apart from the volume level is ever so slightly low, can it be turned up via the headunit automatically somehow?
I should look online for the instruction manual...

The unit has its own volume control (the ring around the button), and the headunit has its own volume control for the phone-in input.

Thanks for that but I did manage to work that one out! :y

I guess I should read the manual for the head unit to work out how to adjust the 'phone in' level. The car also has a Harmon Karden i-pod thingie wired into it, maybe that is why the phone level is a little low??
I'll go and dig out the book,
thanks for your help.

Slightly off topic, but will a MFL Elite with CCRT700 have the phone connector behind the glovebox fitted. I've removed the trafficmaster and its loom if that makes any difference?

Thanks - Rob

The uphill gardener gayPod thing is an fm modulator, and hopefully isn't wired into the phone input (if it is, shoot the installer in front of his family, after calling him a retard), thus hopefully shouldn't affect phone input.  The HU should remember the volume control of the phone input.

Ah, O.K. so presumably then the H.U. should have the option of adjusting the phone input level, I'll have a proper play with the stereo tomorrow and make sure I have the manual to hand, cheers for taking the time to reply.

'uphill gardener' I'd honestly never heard of that term until now, I just googled it but didn't click on any of the search results! We don't have an i-pod in the house but I did plug in the fm modulator thing into my Mates i-phone, it came up "aux. input" or "aux. music source" or something similar on the car's screen so I guess it was installed correctly...

If the MID/CID/GID said phone, message or external audio, shoot the retard who fitted it. If it says Aux on HK screen, thats something different :y

Depending on your phone it may also remember a Bluetooth specific volume level. Try turning up the volume on the phone during a Bluetooth connected phone call.
