Silver Estate
« on: 07 May 2012, 19:00:49 »

Hi all, i would like to thank all those who helped and offered advice on my  " limping " Estate. It was really nice to put faces to all the names i have seen on the site. Tomorrw i will try and get a Cam sensor and put it on. I got back to Heathrow without incident, and have kept the sensor disconnected until i fit the new one. Once again, thanks to all at Hazlemere, and hope to see you later in the year. :)

Good to here you got home without incident - I know from experience that the way a crank sensor cuts a V6 can be "not ideal" ;D

For those following golly's saga, there is a always a P0340 and an occasional P0335.

In this case, as odd as it may seem, I reckon its a faulty cam sensor throwing an erroneous crank sensor code (and thus stalling the engine).  The cam sensor cable (from plug to sensor) looked OK. Strange, as V6 cam sensors are normally bullet proof, as we know.

Hopefully, the uneventful trip home with cam sensor unplugged shows it is related to that sensor.
