Rear subframe bushes
« on: 15 May 2012, 16:04:01 »

Sorry for stealing the picture. I have bought a pair of these from a oof member a while back.
It looks as though I have the ones on the right (charlton). All though the tops look the same as the omega. When I type in the part number off them there come up with Febi bilstein sub frame bushes for a omega.(part number 14549). If theses are wrong can I not just cut the excess of the bottom because the rubber bush looks the same size. Sorry cant add my own pic as camera broke.

Done that. Didn't work, as you can probably see from the distortion on the Carlton bush on the right, they are much harder to fit than omega ones, and still worked out giving a 10 mill gap from the flange to sub frame.

Try it see how you go it won't do any harm.
But fit it the correct ones IMO.

Thanks for the answer,I dont think i was very clear when i asked the question. My one looks exactly the same as the omega one but when you look at it at the same angle as yours it sits higher off the ground like the carlton one.

Ok, centre spacer is 80mill long in total.

The spacer protrudes by 15mill at the top. (top being as its fitted in the car)

The spacer protrudes 15 mill from the bottom, when measured from the flange, excluding the knobbly bits. (bottom being as its fitted in the car)

Should add this bush is bait knackered as you can see. So some distortion is more than possible.
