I got home from LLF64's tonight. It's been 800 miles since my last oil change, so decided to do another. (Long story, but am doing some short interval changes for a reason).
When I got in, I unlocked the house with my keys (same bunch as car keys). I then went out and did the oil change. (It's still draining now, I intended to let it drip all night, and replenish in the morning)
To cut a long story short, I think when I put the jack handle etc away into the boot, I think I've locked my keys in there somewhere.
I don't think I have had a spare in the time I've had the car.
So. Let's work on the basis my only key is locked in the boot. What are my options?
The car is not deadlocked. Just locked. But my chances of getting into it are not great with the old coathanger trick etc.
Assuming the worst and I have to pop a rear window... and I am now in the cabin.
I can't reach through the rear seats and pull the lever on the bootlid. Why? Cos there's a rather great gas tank in the way
The boot release button on the dash has never worked!! I have always used the key.
Maybe it's just the switch, perhaps I could short the wires behind it?
Which leads me onto another point - (if anyone has this info it may be better via PM for security reasons)
One thing which may be a saving grace: The bonnet is open still, due to taking the oil cap off to help it drain...
Are there any wires in the loom, leading to the boot release mechanism.... if you get my drift?

What a tit
