my Omega caught fire and shut the street
« on: 27 October 2006, 19:31:42 »

at 3.37am this morning my Omega 2.5v6 CDX auto estate suddenly burst into flames and exploded with a loud thud. The fire brigade got here really quickly, but because the petrol tank was full when it exploded burning fuel ignited 3 other cars in the street. the resulting blaze melted loads of tarmac and shut the road for the whole day. The car was burnt out completely and the only thing that survived was a heater bypass valve and one wheel. Just for pure entertainment value and with the firmen laughing, I put the key in the ignition and turned. Amazingly the car started........another fire. There are however many advantages to this calamity - the car is more economical than ever now, I don't haver to replace the DIS pack every other week, the wishbones are not a problem anymore and the climate control is better than ever. The only problem is that none of this happened. I lied. It is all made up. Which is a pity, because for a few moments there I actually enjoyed the fact that I was Omega free. So, instead of celebrating I will instead spend tomorrow like last week. Fixing the sodding car again. This time it is plug leads and plugs, and that damned exhaust joint that is leaking yet again. Then I can help laidback fix his Omega followed his other Omega. In the meantime, if anyone wants to have a 1999 Vauxhall Omega 2.5CDX Auto estate Free, get stuffed. You can buy it or I scrap it. Tight bar stewards.
