'Good' 3.0 cars only have 2 pedals  ;) ;) Don't get too het up over having a manual so you can'be in control' .......... Omegas are supposed to be executive cars and executive cars are autos.  :y :y :y

If you want to use the power properly you need a manual in an Omega. New cars with quick changing 6 speed, 7 speed and 8 speed autos can be just as fun as a manual. But in my opinion, the omega auto box isn't brilliant for enjoy a quick drive, it's great for wafting around however.

After being used to an MX-5 and Westfield, a gear change in a manual Omega seems quite an ordeal. ;D

Having said that, I'm sure it could be improved with a bit of attention to the shift mechanism.

I'm sure there is some way of shortening the throw on the getrag box, just need to find a manual to experiment on first.
@andy b-I'm not an executive kind of man,the autos don't do it for me..

The omega manual and auto don't really compare in the usual manor to most other cars. The auto is above average, ime, where as the manual is way below average in shift quality, gear lever throw, cluth pedal travel and vibration transmitted through it. Then there's dual mass fly wheel issues and clutch wear to concider at some point. Balance that with servicing an auto box for minimal cost, most go with the auto.

Given the above, and the rarity of the manual box, I'd suggest buying a suitable car, most likely with an auto, and see how you go. Then convert to a manual box later if it's really that much of a problem for you.

compare the consumptions and acceleration of manual and auto..   2 different cars..

and besides I prefer to have my control over the car instead of a 8 bit chip when I overtake..

answer is easy imo..

ps: and shorter ratio diff will be nice..

Really? Is it not personal preference? Maybe he wants to track or drift it? Yes the auto is nice but a manual is more economical and much better to actually drive. Quality or not, I look where I'm going rather than focus on how the change feels :p  ;D haha
