Having said the above, worth complaining to Halfords too, as companies who operate like this tend to work hard to crush any customer complaints, IMHO. You'll probably get the fee refunded if nothing else.

  Right on Kevin, its high time that the license to test is withdrawn from outfits such as them because they, by the sheer number of complaints about them, give enough reason for Vosa to act. Come on VOSA DO YOUR JOB RIGHT or is it just that rub my back and I will rub yours is the system which prevails?
VOSA, Please get someone out and have test cars sent through the Hafrauds and Quick*hit test stations just as Which did and uncovered a whole load of tosser garages a few years ago.
VOSA, The public needs to trust you and also these MOT testing centres and they should not be ran purely profit motivated and bonus led! You are letting the public down but I suppose being so called Public Servants it is the way you tend to operate anyway.

Unless the situation has changed you will now be unable to appeal to VOSA as you have had the car re-tested elsewhere

Send a snot-o-gram to VOSA and copy it to the manging director of Halfords as well as the local branch manager in question.

May or may not get VOSA to act but should certainly get Halforts piles itching.

ps - Sure I saw a site on the net somewhere last year that gave direct e-mail addresses of all the large and substantial firms out there without it getting spam trapped in middle management.
