Was that clear enough?

Went to see the torch today, only a couple of minutes away and dry.. :y :y

I have never seen so many people in this village, not obvious from the pictures as we were in the 'Cheap Seats' according to banter from the Police Bikers who put on a great show entertaining us whilst waiting, many were from the Met, thought there were too many bikes for Durham. Cheap seats or not we got a better view than the huge crowds in the middle of the village... :D :D

It'll do, I suppose.  ::)

I won't make an issue of the fact that you failed to mention that in these photos there were also police cars and police bikes and people and Union Jacks and buses and prams and dogs and....

Nice pix  :y

I'm being pedantic.  ::) ::)
The flag flown by the RN at the pointy bit of a ship is the Jack Flag and the flag they fly is a Union Flag.  :y :y

 :-\ Ok, but the opening line here states 'The Union Flag, or Union Jack, is the national flag of the United Kingdom.'

http://www.royal.gov.uk/MonarchUK/Symbols/UnionJack.aspx

Is it a case of 'Toe-may-toe...Toe-maa-toe', and only with these nautical chappies ?

It always gets me when so many so called "patriotic" people or organisations fly the flag upside down. I even saw it outside a police station!

Can you imagine the flag of the U.S.A. being flown upside down!

All it would take is 1 minute of time at school out of 10 years of compulsory education to stop this happening.

Rant over.  :y

Can you imagine the U.S.A. sending the Olympic torch to Mexico when they were holding the games ? ;)

Fantastic - I was working, but I'm told by Woman that all the police were really impressive, friendly and enjoying themselves.

While we're at it, is there another country that defaces the flag in the way that we do?

"England" written across the English flag springs to mind or pictures on the Union Flag.
