The other is OV03 LHY which is a white estate.

Greetings - Newbie here! Just spotted this thread and had a read... I used to drive LHY when i was TraffPol at Taplow!  Was the only estate we had and spent most of its time as the Motorway car as we could stuff the boot with kit!  Out of all the marked cars it had the easiest life as its obviously not that nimble round town, so didn't get ragged about too much. In fact most of us hated driving it so it spend alot of time sat in the back yard having a rest :y Only got stuffed once if i recall - You know the bit on the beginning of Road Wars intro sequence when the Police car gets rammed head on by an old Tipper Transit, taken from an in car view - yea, thats your car  :o

Firstly, welcome to OOF  :y
Thank you for posting, I've been interested in LHY's history.
I've actually been speaking with Sgt Welham from the CC's office about this vehicle, it is in the process of being restored back to its 'in-service' state. I'm a member of PVEC, and there are a few Omega's on there.
I'd be interested if you could remember it's dash layout and where the switch panel was? I now know it obviously was 'Video Equipped' as it filmed itself being front ended  ;D
When it's complete, you'd be more than welcome to take it for a drive  :y

Gastro have you got a link to the Omega on ebay, can't seem to find it  ;D  ::)

Cheers Paul  :y

This one maybe?, finished OVO3 LHZ

It used to wear the plate VE03 WVN when first in service, and was featured on RW.
It's the sister car to my white estate  :y

Why would they change the Reg Josh?

A few of them wore 'ghost' plates to disguise them;
For example my black 3.2 used to be GM03 HYU and the blue Vectra seen on there that wore LW05 AET is actually OU05 EN*
KF52 NDX was another ghost reg for an Omega. They reverted back to the STD registration assigned to them when they were new either later in service, or when disposed of.
Yours always wore it's original registration, I've got a copy of it's service history and now a little about its life now. I'll stick it in the post to you  :y

Thanks a lot for that Josh, reminds me I need to reply to a pm from you re paint codes, I do that when Im back later.

Chris.  :y
