I worked for 50 yrs, my wife for 45 yrs, paid our taxes, yes we get a bus pass, free prescriptions, but we still pay full council tax, rent, & water rates. we have earned our pensions, we still have to pay for dental treatment. what p---es us off is people who have not paid a cent in to the the pot get everything free. stop immigration and our country might get back on its feet.

im thinking and i might get my head chewed off here but if a single mum gets pregnant at 16,claims for a flat/house,council tax,and everything else, they should get there tubes clamped so they can not have any more babies till they get a job and then this might stop them thinking its an easy life, and once they are in a job they can then have clamps removed,it would give then an incentive to get a job and not shag like rabbits and expect all us who work to keep them.
Also any 1 who claims benefits must do a drink and drug test, because if they can afford these habbits whilst claiming they are getting to much money, and if they fail they get a third of there benefits, because if they was employed they wouldnt be able to do it whilst working,so why should they do it when claiming benefits.

We'd save loads more money if we just exterminated everyone on benefits surely?
I take it you will be supporting yourself & your family out of your own pocket if you are unlucky enough to break a leg and have to spend 6 months off work then?

No debate about the benefits that the rich do not need because the benefits system is there for the poorest of our society...but you cant object to anyone that have worked all of their lives and putting money away in private pensions rather than...drinking it,,,smoking it......each to their own......so if they want to and can afford to go away on holidays 20 times a year then fair play to them...who are we to say they cant..not me... :y

your father in law is 80 years of age with two company pensions and a state pension.....the best of luck to him....what you are forgetting  is that he worked all his life and paid into a system that he  knew would and should support him so in my books he deserves all that he worked and saved for......fair play to him.....we did not pay into a system for it to be misused by all the lazy g..ts that will not get off of their backsides and get a job...these people think that this country owes them a living..It does not...it has a duty to give those that work for it a fair system that rewards working not shirking. :(

ABSOLUTELY, he contibuted and deserves a comfortable life in his twilight years :y :y :y :y

It is the bloody scroungers, immigrants, assylum seekers that pay nowt and expect a luxury lifestyle... PAY NOW'T IN GET NOW'T OUT.. >:( >:( >:(

Welfare for the needy, not for the baby incubators >:( >:(

There are eight 3 bed houses in our Crescent, one is rented out to a 30 years old woman of mixed race she has four young kids by 3 different blokes the youngest coming up to 3 and she is up the duff again!!! WHY..... another £100 + to stay at home and live off benefits. You can bet your bottom dollar she will find someone to fill her crack when this one reaches 3 so she doesn't have to accept free child care to work.
The rest of us are either retired or in gainful employement and she wears the latest designer cloths, top of the range electical goods are delivered to her house. Her father is black and a social worker!!! 'bout sums it up. IT IS WRONG >:( >:(

SWMBO is having to working until 63 to get her pension to support these scounging arse wipes >:( >:(

I think the reason that bus passes( don't get mine for 2 more years they put it up from 60), fuel allowance, prescription etc are an all encompassing with age is that it would cost more to administer is it should be means tested than paid out in first place.

I was tending to agree with your somewhat 'Generalised comment, but fail to see the relevance of the Black Social Worker reference....... ::) ::) ::)

The point is he should know better, but instead gets his daughter all the benefits he can and no it wouldn't make any difference what race he was.

I agree totally with Cleggy, this country is full of parasitic spongers who know how to milk the system and if they do'nt there are plenty of so called advisers to guide them to the golden goose, for christ's sake why do you think that there are hundreds of immigrants queueing up on the other side of the channel. Why England? and not the number of other countries that they have passed through? no prize for guessing the answer ;)I get my state pension next year and I'm going to bite their arm of taking it because I will have been paying into the system for 50 years by then so on a personal basis I certainly wont feel the slightest bit of guilt taking the money

We were chatting about this very subject in the office today, started by relating today's benefits to those shown in 'Turn Back Time' on Tuesday night when to get welfare in the 30's you were first stripped of all none essential assets, eg 4 in the family we will leave 4 chairs.....

In my business I get to see how a lot of people live and am aware of many families finances and see many that have more money coming in than I do in net salary at the end of the month, and they do not have to pay rent or council tax etc and we don't have a huge telly in the corner or the latest surround sound.....I am in danger of a real rant here........ :-X :-X :-X

You mean you have had to take responsibility for your children, I should think so to....... I have no money, because I have children, and step children, and they drain my pockets regularly, it is called being a parent....... :y :y  I should add I have a gorgeous little grandson by my eldest stepson..... :y :y :y although, if it suits I can deny being a grandparent..... :D :D :D

i dont have a problem but the ex lied to them about me not paying her when i was and then the csa slapped on loads off arrears aswell so i have to pay more, because they take the womans side and dont give a toss about the father, and to be able not to see your kids because the csa wont allow any money to see them takes the piss, and i am also on my own and do not have a partner to help me out either

I take your point.

swmbo had the opposite, ex paid meggabucks but csa would never take it up as he was in a position to produce a wage slip that showed different, swmbo tried to get the csa to look at his tax returns, they refused so she and then we lost out big time. That said he is the one who has lost out as the 2 younger ones 20 and 22 now have had nothing to do with him for some years, where family occasions have brought us all together tensions run high...... :( :(
