I would look in to a bit more as it was on ebay back at the start of Feb and sold so i would be asking why its back on with the same seller. ;)

Are you sure it was same seller as just looked at his history and no record of the car?
Iam 99% sure because i was going to bid on it but the price went higher than i was happy to pay for it. The photos of the car are in the same place and the winning bidder in feb was a motor trader an won it for over £1200 but if i was you ask the seller as to why its back on ebay and go from there. It might even be worth asking on the forum if a member with a tech 2 who lives close could go and have a look for you.

It all stands to be the abs ecu which to be honest you can drive without it, have my road angel for speed. There is a map feature on the forum but it wont let me get into it, do you know why?

Would be a MOT fail and knowningly driving it with a defective safty system could be interesting insurance wise though

Is everyone by the book to the letter of the law on here.  ;)

Its nowt to do with the law IMHO ...

Faulty ABS/TC, Faulty Speedo, Possible Faulty Steering  ( the weighting also comes from ABS and can also fail - I KNOW ), Faulty air bag system.

Adds up to downright dangerous, so driving in that condition is not just illegal .. its bloody stupid.

Thought it was just abs and speedo affected.

When my ABS ECU failed the steering weighting became intermittent as well as the speedo/abs/tc problems ... one minute the car drove normally, next it was as heavy as lead .... NOT good when cornering at any normal speeds.

The air bag light being ON means the airbag system WILL NOT OPERATE (AFAIK).

As already said .. ANPR systems will tag you as no MOT in milliseconds.

All the points are MOT fails.

I would not be prepared to risk driving a car in such condition.

Just my opinion of course ...  :)

It's a 2000 car with 2003 wheels and most 3.0 had Sat Nav (I think it may have been an option on the early 3.0 facelift Elites). Also manual is a rare sight in an Elite as well.

I'll get me coat.

Sat nav was an option from May 2000 but this car does not have.

This is a big if but if prestigesec does buy it and it goes back on the road which is going to be the best place for it then great but if it ends up going to the big scarp yard in the sky then i would just like to put in first bid on the steering wheel because thats the only reason why i was going to buy it back in Feb :y

Really needs someone with a Tech II to have a nose at it, BBA Reman do a repair service on the ABS ECU and the Airbag light could be something as simple as one of the cables under the seat coming adrift (common problem on Vectras and Astras). As always though it's down to how brave you are - Bought as seen / buyer beware.

There is no word of a service book but if it has full service history with stamped book then i think it would be a good buy but not much more than the reserve :y
