     Ive  never disconected battery to do a dis-pack.
  isnt that what the haynes manwell says on every page
 "first chock wheels and disconect battery" soon it will say"first put on hi-viz vest and safety footwere" ;D

I have the ideal tool for doing dispacks. Its not much cop at any other job though :P

How much current do you have to pass through one of them before you damage them?
