Hmmm. Thought it might have been cheaper than that. Not much different to the 2.6 then ?

Vectra C 2.2 dti manual... 161g/km... band h... £195 a year

same engine, same power, same egr setup...  :-\

Vectra is a fair bit lighter, and allegedly more aerodynamic. Skinny tyres probably also work in its favour :'( iirc most Vec Cs run 205 or 215 tyre widths, even with the larger diameters :y

Definately lighter, although I suspect the Vectra estate and Omega saloon aren't much different...

Allegedly more aerodynamic, but again, I can't see there being much in it...

I agree that skinnier tyres would make a slight difference, but my the stated g/km figures seem to be the same for a model, whatever tyres it's fitted with... eg, Omega 2.2 dti CD with 225 section tyres V Omega 2.2 dti elite with 235 section tyres... same g/km figure... :-\

At the end of the day, 31 g/km seems a big difference... maybe different cats...  :-\

Gearing is the other obvious variable :-\

Omega emissions are probably speculative Euro 3.

Vectra emissions probably tested a bit more carefully, for tax purposes and Euro 4.

Just been checking the details for the Vectra B 2.2 dti... saloon 170g/km, estate 173g/km...

The 2.2dti was put in the Vectra B the same year as the Omega (2001 I think), but is obviously alot lighter, so this is probably a fairer comparison...

The Vectra C is bigger and heavier than it's predecessor, and yet has better emissions, so I guess this confirms that something was done like you suggest Al.  :y

Not sure the 2.2 Dti did.
The 1.9 CDti came in 120 & 150 BHP flavours I think.

Vectra Bs had a choice of outputs for the SRis based one engine size, 1.8 was 120, 2.0 was 130, 2.2 was 150 and 2.5/2.6 was 170, (more with a 3.0 accidently fitted) ::)

Believe the diseasel power choices were with the 1.7 lumps, possibly 85 or 100 :-\ maybe even the 2.0 dti :-\
