Newbie seeking advice
« on: 26 April 2008, 19:39:31 »

Hi guys,

Im currently a vectra owner looking to buy an omega so im glad i stumbled across this forum!

Just wanted a bit of advice; i want an elite idially lpg converted. I went to look at a 2001 3.0 elite thats currently on autotrader. Was ok but bodywork was a bit shabby. 2 of the 4 electric seats didnt work any ideas what these are like to fix? Also the satnav cd was missing - where can you get these from and any ideas how much?

Its up for £3900 with 53000 on the clock. Does this sound reasonable? Parkers say £3200 but without the lpg.

Anyway any help would be greatfully recieved!

Paul.

over priced, pay sub 3k for 2001/2002 Elites.

Large engine cars are becomming impossible to sell around the 3-5k area.

People who have that kinda money are looking for diesels....

Paul.

Seems an excessive price to me, with too many faults and no fsh (?) :-?
To give you a clue, just paid £2000 for a 2000 (W) 2.5 V6 CDX auto, 104k but fdsh, all new tyres, brakes, exhaust, years MOT, immaculate, everything working and with a warranty, but I still think I paid too much!

I agree that all big engined cars are struggling to reach their asking price, as petrol prices are going up permantently and the road tax on 2001 upwards cars will escalate significantly in the next year or two. :'( :'(

So, be careful in what you buy and pay for when buying an Omega. :y

Ok, thanks guys. It did have a very good service history, even had the cambelt done. Just been looking on autotrader there is an 03 elite 2.5 with lpg up for £3800 with 112000 miles. parkers values that at 3600. £400 more than the 01 with half the miles!

Remember the difference in tax that will be due pre 2001 and post 2001 as a result of the latest budget shennanigans...
