Vauxhall Customer Aftersales Assistance Centre
« on: 08 November 2012, 15:17:57 »

MarksDTM picked this up.

It appears you/may not require a grill modification to an Insignia if a towbar is fitted, to improve air flow.

EPC is not clear as to whether it applies to a 1.6 - 2.0, or both.

So, for clarrification I thought I would phone the above.

Conversation went something like this :-

Me: I wonder if you can help me please, does an Insignia require a grill modification if a towbar is fitted?

Pillock: Vauxhall do not approve of modifications.

Me: No, Vauxhall recomend this modification, but EPC is not clear as to whether it applies to all models of Insignia.

Pillock: You don't understand what I'm saying to you, Vauxhall do not approve modifications.

Me: No it's you that doesn't understand what I'm saying to you, the Vauxhall/Opal towbar fitting instruction say you need a grill modification, the parts are listed on EPC, but EPC is not clear as to whether it applies to all models.

Pillock: You still don't understand what I'm saying to you, Vauxhall do not approve of modifications, and an Opal is not a Vauxhall.

Me: I'm wasting me time, good bye (or words to that effect) >:(

Hope you got a name (assuming you were talking to a UK based call centre type person, not an Indian/Bangladeshi/3rd World name-of-the day person) so that you can refer back to the idiot when you compose your letter of complaint.....

...anyway, AA, by now, you should know better than going anywhere near a dealer. Of any sort. Sadly.
