Films that if I see scheduled I'd try and sit down and watch .
The Talented Mr Ripley . Didn't take to it first time round but second time found the plot quite sinister. Philip Seymour Hoffan steals it .
Point Blank . Lee Marvin at his menacing best , a real hard man .Doesn't need gore and special effects to chill .
Howards End & The Remains of the Day . Two of my favourite Anthony Hopkins films . Gentle good acting.
Das Boot . Sweaty , smelly , frightening realism .A world away from the crisp clean spacious Hollywood sub films . I never tire of that movie .
The original 39 Steps . Hitchcock /Robert Donet from long long ago . A favourite wet afternoon film that takes me back to a time when the world was a much bigger place and a trip from London to Perthshire and back was like going round the world. Ahhh...
