Dont bother when it rains you get soaked and when the sun finally comes out you put some gay leathers on and sweat your nuts off!!!
I'm a fair weather boy - just as well as my ZX10 is a bit too willing to kill me in the wet - and use it for work.  Takes 30 mins of my journey, and does 50mpg :y

The sad thing is that 30mins of your journey could put you in an early grave when you weave in and out of traffic there are just too many old people out there on the road that cant see in front of them never mind a biker cutting down the middle of a load of traffic its just to dangerous.

Personally i just dont think bikers are responsable on the roads, i know there are a lot of dangerous and wreckless car drivers around but on a percentage bases it falls way short in comparison to bikers as the majority of motor bike riders i see on a day to day bases ride in a ridiculous manner taking there lifes and others into there hands. Riding at silly speeds taking daft chances. Before i get an earfull of everyone i know there are responsable riders out there i am just saying there are a hell of a lot that arent.
As a (part time) biker, I would have to say there are far more poor car drivers than bikers - no indication, lane changing without warning, pulling out, overtaking bikes closely, following too closely...

And going to work, I'm not a big weaver - but I do have the power and performance to overtake quickly and cleanly.  And get past the big traffic queues of stupid parents to rather lazy to walk their rather little brats 400 rather yards to their rather schools.  rather chavs.

Opps, started going into a rant then...

Rediculous when was the last time you saw a motor bike riding at the speed limit in a lane of traffic? It just doesnt happen wreckless beyond belief including the guy who flew round the outside of me last year on a slip road to a motorway when he lost it in front of my bumper and i nearly squashed is head only for the fact i guessed to swerve the right way he is still here today riding his bike thats nice and quick to overtake traffic safely well what he thought was safely. Dont get me wrong i dont clame to be a saint on the road myself but some of the riding you see from motor bikes is just plain stupid and far worse than what i personally have seen from cars.
About 2hrs ago, now you mention it ;)

If you like bikes you should come down by me once a year for the egg run there are thousands of bikes come for it and take an egg each for the kids at local hospital, only problem is there are tons that dont make it with over heating as there are literally thousands that do it and it is at snail pace.

I don't ride for pleasure, I use it purely for transport.

There is also an Egg Run in Massive plus a Toy Run at Christmas :y

As for your little rantings........

I understand what you say about some people on motorbikes going rather fast but i find in the main it is young lads on scooters who think they are Kenny Roberts.....

But as an ex biker, I honestly think that before learning to drive a car, all people should have to ride a motorbike first.. the reason being when you are riding a motorbike the amount of people that pull out on you is unreal... "Oh sorry mate I didn't see you!" even though your headlight was on! they never really looked properly is the real answer.
Now when you have riden a motorbike and your driving a car, you look for motorcyclists .........

If you've never even been on a bike before, I would get a cheap one first and try it for a few weeks. Theres no point in paying all that money for a test and then a bike to find you'll never use it ::)

I bought mine for its lack of outright speed & its upright riding position.

Some weird firing intervals there 270 degree :o

360 is smoothest power delivery but more vibration

180 is smoothest for vibration

I have had 360 and 180 and larger 180 was smoother

I had a mid life crisis not so long ago. Passed my test at 17 and loved my bike. So bought another at 45. ZZR600. Frightened the life out of me but what a rush.......glad it was stolen, I could have killed myself. Not so glad the insurance had lapsed. Even worse when they found it and I had to pay the garage to release my smashed up bike to me. You live and learn.
