Changed out HU
« on: 11 January 2013, 13:37:06 »

Hey guys i changed out the HU on my Elite, and i realised that now i cannot control the cars own screen, it says Brake light check, so i do that, then it comes up with Icey Roads. Is there anyway for using it now ?

And also quick question of changing the speakers, can i use the original Wiring and just change the speakers? As i have all the speakers that i hope will fit in the front doors and back doors, and as for the back shelf ill buy some for there too :D.

Sorry guys for the lack of information was in a rush on my way out. The car is a Vauxhall Omega, 2003 3.2 Elite

The original headunit is a Siemens NCDC 2013, and yes it has a Bose Amp, which i think is connected to all 6 Speakers in the car :D

And yes i have removed the Amp now.

OK thanks, i have read it, and i have replaced the speakers and put my own cables in, but now i have another problem

I disconnected the wiring loom in the driver door, and the reconnected it, turned the car on then the airbag light came on. So i turned the car off, then back on, the airbag light turned off, but then 2 seconds later the light comes back on. Does it need to be reset? And how do i do that?

Once the airbag system has detected a fault it requires a session on Tech2 to clear it (sorry).

Hey guys, Amps all fitted, sound is good :D, BUT im having Radio interference with one of the amps i used. I have a 2 Channel Amp, and a 4 Channel Amp, and the 4 Channel amp seems to be at fault as when i disconnect it the Radio works fine, no interference issues :D, But as soon as i connect the 4 Channel amp back up again, the Radio doesnt work properly.

I have tried different cables(e.g Power Cables, Earth Cable, Remote/Trigger Cable), and also tried moving amp, from right under the parcel shelf to the floor, its just that amp keeps interfering with the Radio.

Any suggestions ?

Is it a bose amp under the parcel shelf?
If so that will be the issue but Dave dnd will be the man to advise more.

Any chance of some images of the setup connections - may be easier to see what you are doing?

Gut feeling is that you have a poor earth connection to the body, insufficient power to the amps and a remote feed that may be under voltage.

What had unit are you running?
Is the interference just on radio?
Is the interference with engine running or not?
