CDC safe situation
« on: 19 January 2013, 13:06:04 »

Hi Just joined the forum.

I brought an Omega last week and went to try a CD this morning and i am getting a CDC safe message. I have had a search but cant find to much info about it. I have a ccrt 2008. I was just going to change the head unit but as my omega has the bose system I would have to spend 45 hours rewiring and installing new speakers.

Anyone got any ideas what the CDC safe is .

Its a known fault that happens on these units. Sadly, the option is to send the unit to Dave DND.

Plan B is to replace HU, but you will need to change amp and speakers as well.

I realise I am nearly a year late on this one but eh! - time flies!

I have one of these - it went "cdc safe" after about 3 months and I found someone who sent away to Germany for a new chip (£75). About a year later it went again - another £75. When it went a third time about 2 years later I decided enough was enough - which was just as well because I can no longer find anyone able/willing to do the job.

Expensive rubbish is still rubbish!

CCR2006 suffers from the same issue

However, CCRT2008 has another few complexities about it - but if you want to give me a ring, I`ll see if we can find a solution for you

Dave,

My apologies for not responding - I have been off-line (literally and figuratively) for some time due to assorted personal problems. However, I think at this stage it's not worth bothering with the CD player - the car is 15 years old and has done 256k so it's on borrowed time.

Thanks for the offer anyway.

Regards.
