1kw of electricity during the day at peak time?

Depends on your supplying company, what tariff you are on etc etc etc .. :)

I'm with nPower and pay 10.868 p/kwhr but there is also a standing charge which makes it hard to actually give the exact cost per kwhr

Thanks. I know it's hard to find a definitive answer.

We've just purchased a new dehumidifier which uses 425 watts.

Base around 5p an hour then at a guess   :(  with VAT and standing  charges I'd call it 7p an hour to be on the safe side :)

Mine is about 24p per KWh, but I'm on economy 7.

And you can't use that F, it's a rude letter.

I've just given my energy supplier a bell. We are currently with EDF.

Day rate 15.97p + VAT..........16.77p

Night rate 5.78p + VAT.......... 6.07p

Standing charge 18p a day + VAT 18.9p

Doesn't look good, does it. :-\

Well my quarterly bill is only £450, so I don't mind. But, then again, I'm not one of these tight-fisted rural types.

I've been running a small fan heater in a room that has been re - rendered and plastered, to keep it a bit warmer so it dried out quicker.  The property in question has a token meter and it has cost me about £6 a day!!  :o
