road tax refund?

iv,e been told that I can apply for road tax refund online . if so what do I need to do? :-\ :y

Print out the form from website https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-tax-disc-refund-form-v14, fill it in, attach tax disc and enclose certificate of disposal, post to Swansea and hope they don't lose it and send you a cheque.

as far as i know you can only get a refund now if your name is on the v5

Used to work with HMRC when sending in your return, until they started online filing  :y

Quite often used to post mine through the letterbox at 7.30am on the 1st Feb before they opened......how do they know i didnt post it at 11pm on the 31st Jan  ;) ;D

Worth a try anyway I'd say, sure what have you got to lose especially with it being bank holiday weekend. If you dont try you dont get. I assume this is linked to your other post ray so they may base the refund on the date of the accident anyway, I'm not sure on how it works
