Rear electrics
« on: 02 April 2013, 23:41:15 »

Car had a blown park pilot speaker just after I bought it. Which was repaired with a similar item soldered on to the original piece of loom.

Rear blind was later retro fitted, this failed soon after, constant clicking gears and no movement from the blind retracting. Can't remember if that then failed and another was fitted. Maybe TB can remember, as we fixed one at his place.

Now the park pilot speaker failed again, now replaced with a genuine item off another car here.

Coincidence? Or is there something connected?

My rear blind is failing - clicking and won't rise or fall without pulling.  I am assuming it is a mechanical failure, I suppose it could be triggered by a voltage surge but I suspect just gear wear and tear.

Conincidence Mr Gayboy.

Both blinds and PP speakers are known to be a bit shit.

certainly the blind system is a bit poor and prone to failure

..... and surely learning to park would be a cure for the park-pilot speaker

:( it went out with a nice squeak/warble warning though. :y but not to worry, I had a spare here. :)

I've stuffed the new speaker in by the rear blind plug, save pulling that corner of the head lining down....again.... ready for the next time it fails.

Doesn't matter how useless it is, its all got to work. All of it. :)
