Tow bar/ball?
« on: 13 May 2008, 20:11:24 »

What would a kit cost for an Omega saloon.

Or what cost would I expect to pay for a tow bar completely fitted?

TIA

I just bought a trailer and the miggy that is coming up for sale is fitted with one and the new Elite isnt.  Both cars are 99 models and saloons.

Thought about it, but am considering selling the car thought it might help as a selling point as it has got twin electrics on it.

......

How deep are your pockets? A detachable Brink is £236 plus electrics.

Edit. My link won't go straight to the Omega's towbars  :(

Do we have to cut into the wiring loom on the Miggy or is there any plugs fitted with to the loom with tow bars in mind when they built the cars?

Hi Phil , this one on ebay is good i have used this company a couple of times, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Tow-Bar-kit-towbar-Vauxhall-Omega-Sal-94-03_W0QQitemZ380021664057QQihZ025QQcategoryZ33653QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247
as for fitting it yourself it is not difficult, about 30 mins to an hour to fit and about the same for the wiring it all depends on how handy you are with a spanner m8, i have fitted 2 on saloons my brother in laws omega and sisters omega, there are 9 holes you need to drill i know it sounds a lot but it only takes a few minutes , you would need to remove the panel in the boot to gain access to the wiring plug ,
there is a link on the auction on feebay for fitting instructions
if you do decide to buy one and fit yourself pm me and i can tell you exactly which wires need connecting and where

Dont know what to do yet.  On the fitting side the mind is cabable but the body isnt, so I gotta get help on that side.

Taking the car round a couple of places today if I get chance to see whats required to sort the groany noise out on the NSF and how much to sort out the exhaust.  Whist it's on the ramps I will have a look and see if I can take the towbar off without leaving any silly holes for when it goes up for sale.

Cheers for the advice guys, will let you know what I do in the end. :y :y

you would be left with 6 holes in the boot floor m8 under the carpet , 2 near the seats and 4near the plastic panel at the rear , the other 3 holes you would not see
