It works!

I linked pins 7 & 12 and it connects to the ABS module. The live data looks plausible but I have only checked that it can see the brake light switch so far.

I linked pins 3, 7 & 12 together and initially got access to the engine and gearbox ecus.

The developer has steadily added more features and I now have access to codes and live data in the engine, gearbox and ABS ecus.

What isn't working is access to the SRS (safety restraint / airbag) ecu. Does anyone know which pin the SRS ecu is connected to?

Pin 12.

Note that the reason they are not all connected to one pin might well be that the output of the tool, or each ECU, might only be able to drive a limited number of inputs. I'd try it with just pin 12 connected.

Thanks Kevin. If I had paid more attention to your previous post I would have had my answer

Wiring diagrams show it to pin 12 on the diag socket (in addition to airbag, climate, servotronic).

I am able to communicate with the gearbox so I assume that means that I have comms on pin12 (though I suppose that the airbag ECU might have a weaker interface and be unable to drive multiple buses).
