In 2006 my wife and I were at Heathrow on way to Cape Town on holiday. My wife got talking to a lady also browsing books in W H Smith who turned out to be Mrs Jeremy Clarkson as we realised when he pitched up - they were also en route to Cape Town but he was working. Road testing the the new (at that time) Jag XKR - I remember the magazine article that came out some time later.

no I am far too sophisticated for that - we ended up just a few yards from them on the plane down there. He and his Mrs got whisked away by his reception team on arrival whilst we sloped off to organise some sort of Nissan hire car.

The emoticons after my question should point towards the sincerity of my question. I'm sure there are more than you who don't know the ''God'' commonly known as Jezza. Some people absolutely detest the man, find him absolutely hilarious myself tbh  :D

I just love it when he says or does something and all the PC-touchy-feely-tree-huggers are up in arms about it and the BBC are hesitant to apologise. I love it, great stuff !   :y

Hmmmm . . . he's been a bit quiet for a while. Probably still busy shooting public sector workers in front of their families  ;D

(PS: The reason The Beeb are/were always a bit hesitant, could be because TG is one of their biggest sellers to overseas TV companies)

Yes - he upset the Nelson Mandela camp during a South Africa visit - Nelson misunderstood and thought Jeremy was an astronaut and Jeremy made mention of this slip somewhere - S Africans not happy at the misunderstanding becoming public
