I've not long sold an R107 5-litre, which never did more than 20

that's not a dis-recommendation BTW. Just having a V8 is worth putting up with 20mpg less

That's all that console's me when I fire up the Disco

  They don't give much power for the amount of fuel they use..





If I where to get a V8 it would have to be a car of some kind.. Figures like that Land Rover are shocking if their accurate that would make a 2.2 16v Omega faster or just as fast as a 4.0 V8

V8 is definitely good  especially with the twin Eminox vertical chrome pipes fitted

It's is quite a lazy old thing but if you hitch a couple of tons behind it nowt changes,if I want to go quickly I use the Signum,still love the Disco's comfort though and the high seating

Have you done your homework? pistonheads quote as low as 16 MPG for this car....

I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee, will tow a caravan without it even noticing it, daily use get more mpg than and Omega, or thereabouts, 2.7 Merc Diesel with a Merc Auto Gearbox, drives like a boat though...... Makes me feel like 'Morse', cos no one else in my profession uses one of these for work....

yes - I get 18mpg out of my V8 Disco, with maybe 20 at the most while towing.

but I'd still have that than 30+ out of the dreadful satan-fuelled equivalent

what about an old w210 3.0 diesel e class there about £1000 you'll see 40 mpg and it'll pull anything

Mine isn't,don't do enough miles in it to warrant the cost on an older vehicle
