Yes I got the BANG and can see the before and after but how/why or am I missing something?  ???

Well? How did it go BANG?  :(
The exact cause was never confirmed, and there are differences of opinion to the actual cause, but the actual bang was a small, half empty capmingaz cylinder
Did the ZX10 have a powersounder ?  :-\
They weren't alarmed back then. Not even immobilised :y

Back then? Back then they didn't have enough power to rub two sticks together, back then. ;D
My battery rarely had the power to turn the starter over ;D

I had a feeling someone would say that, but I'm struggling with one of my gay illnesses, so it'll have to wait until next time I get up  :-[

True - I kept toying with something newer (and oil tight!), and a little less highly strung when starting, but I'm not a Ninja boy, it was a commute tool, and the low insurance (about £80 a year, FC, pillions and ride other bikes) helped keep running costs to virtually sod all.

So sad to see it go  :'(

Will I replace it? Dunno. Probably not  :'(

True, but it knocks my often 1.5hr morning commute (40 mins on school hols) down to about 50mins.

Unlike most middle aged Ninja brigade, speed wasn't a measure of manhood for me (though acceleration, and a good set of bends can be addictive). That said, the quality and concentration of the organic matter driving in their tin cans makes it more and more dangerous.

Speed is the only reason for buying one. And accept the risks. Anything else is gay, and purely exposure to unnecessary risk, without the plus's. Best left. Stick to the car. :y

The car is probably only about 10mph behind the old bike flat out. Not that I've ever had the opportunity to max out the MV6 or the ZX10.  As said, the acceleration was the exciting bit.

But as a commuting tool, the bike definitely had advantages over the car, even if you stuck to the speed targets limits.

Done a little more today, now waiting mostly waiting for scaffolding, then the trusses.  Doubt it will be done by the anniversary (11th July), but at least things are moving :)
