Got the garage here.

My 2.2 needs new  rear springs and shocks.

father tunnies 2.2 needs a new exhaust.

Be better if there were more of us, and fitting exhausts always better with more pairs of hands?

This weekend? I can supply beer

great, i did a senator exhaust some time ago, its dead easy, just need extra hands to support the weight.

Did father tunnies springs on saturday thanks to TheBoy, refereshed my memory niclely.

Should be nice to do the shocks at the same time.

Shocks are a piece of cake, we've just changed mine today 2 nuts 2 bolts and 2 air pipes for the self levelling.
As I said elsewhere hold the top of the shock with an adjustable as 6mm spanners break too easily and if possible an air impact wrench will make it so much easier to do.
Use the blow gun on the airline to precharge the shock before refitting the compressor pipe.

Any chance you could ask your local dealer about what shocks I need. I could get down to them early on Saturday and pick them up on the way. I only desperately need to do the fronts, but I'd prefer to dall all 4 if I can, then I know that it is done.

I need the MV6 shocks for the 3.2 MV6 with the self-levelling option. I don't have a VIN number as it is an Elite undergoing a conversion. New MV6 springs are already fitted.

I don't have a compressor, would need to pop up the road for that  

When I did the rear springs, one of the last bits was to knock the shocks off, to make the wheels drop, to get the springs out.

At that point, is it just the nut up the top in the boot? Un-do that and they fall out?

Thing is i can easily ask for Elite or normal springs, but they might get confused with MV6 Self Leveling...

Yes Mark you precharge the self levelling system on the shock with the airline non levelling shocks don't have the air connection so you can't do them. Mr Haynes recommends pumping the shock 3 or 4 times to ensure the fluid is distributed correctly before fitting.

Yes there is just one 16mm nut on the top of the shock you hold the threaded bit with an adjustable and unscrew the nut.
Both rubber bushings and a new nut are included with the shocks so you just need the washer from the top and the washer and tube from below. Give them a good clean with a wire brush/file and lubricate before replacement. I used copperslip as it's all I had to hand.

It depends on whether the saloon MV6 came with a self-levelling option.

father tunnies 2.2 MOT expires on wednesday, new exhaust is to get it though the MOT, so needs fitting this weekend comming.

Trouble is also arranged to visit a friends to book a trip in the Sun next month  8-)

So gunna pick the parts up Sat, Fit Sunday!

I'll bring round the aforementioned gear, including the compressor if you need it. I won't need it as I'm junking the self-levelling
