I suspect hes had to thread a lot more of the rod as its not been installed properly (e.g. over the diagnonal of the battery)

....as there wasn't enough threaded rod to wind the nut on to  :y :y :y

re installation.... even if i'd have fitted it quote ''properly'' unquote, i'd have still had to create a thread.

if I need to put it as taxi al says ill just replace rods with tent hooks as that's essentially what they are  ::)

If you want it you can have the battery clamp and bolt off my dead DTi.  :y

Fit a different length battery and use another hole if you can't get that bolt out :y

I spent an hour and a half drilling then bending a piece of steel lengthways to the correct angle to make a new battery clamp for my transit last year - against the clock cos it was booked in for MOT  :-[

Got in van, and found the original in the door pocket.  :-[ :-[ :-[

Drilled mine out and fitted a smaller bolt through the hole with a nut on it .. job jobbed .
