Probably a silly question but thought I'd ask it anyway.
I've done 2 oil changes over the past couple of months, with another 2 planned. I know the sump on the 2.0 takes 4.5ltr and cars above the 2.2 take 5.5ltr (I think I'm right on that). Each time I've changed my oil it's taken more than the required 4.5 to get to the max on the dipstick. Usually around the 5ish ltr mark. I'm curious as to why this is, so my question is this. Can the lower part of the sump be swapped, is it possible that my 2.0 has, say a 3.0 sump, or at least the lower part?
I mention this because every picture I've seen for an oil change on a 2.0 has the sump plug on the side, and the v6 have it underneath. Mine is underneath, on the base of the sump and not on the side like in the pictures.
Like I said, probably a silly question, just wanted to know if that's why it's taking more than it should. Or maybe I'm just really bad at reading the level on the bottle lol
