rear driveshaft gater

Evening guys
                  Well just put the meg away for the winter, but on changing one of the rear wheels i've notice that one of the driveshaft gaters is split on the crease, how easy is it to replace, im shocked at the price for replacment gater, europarts what ?70,00 !!!! :-\ :-\ bloody hell :'( :'(

They're a bit of a faff and messy, but straight forward enough :y

Try Vauxhall, might be a better price, paid ?20 for a newoldstock driveshaft repair kit for mine... no harm in asking :y

I've done it, but it means taking off the shaft, removing the old gaiter, filling the joint with special grease, then fitting new gaiter and clips, then replacing the driveshaft. As Rob G says, simpler and cheaper to buy a used driveshaft and fit it. I expect one of the brokers on this site has one. I think they are the same both sides.

Yep, but the V6 ones have different bolthole spacings than the 4-pots
