Give the trade card a flash at the till, you never know it may knock off a couple more quids! Did for me recently ;)
Nope, in this case, flashing a trade card will increase the price, as you will pay trade price, not offer price ;)

50% off socket sets offer a few weeks ago , trade card got me an extra 10% off  ;)
I've bought 2 items from 2 different Halfords stores today, on retailed at £40 (sale), trade was £60. Other retailed at £30, trade £45.

I bought the tool chest top and bottom and got the 150 piece set for £299 then got £30 refunded as the tool chest had a slight dent ,so I now have two 150 sets  :P
They were doing the tool chest as a bundle the other day top intermediate and bottom for £249

Picked up a ratchet spanner set down for £79.99 to £39.99, dropped to £37.99 with trade card, asked if the same applies to socket sets on offer and the answer was yup!

It was the ratchet spanner set on offer that drew me to this in the first place. Never thought about the card though - would be handy if it worked all round!

Yeah, I wanted that chest set, but nowhere to store. Hopefully it will return soon.

The trade price of that set is £37, no matter what the retail price is (I've bought enough of them). If they had a fire sale, and dropped it to £20 retail, trade would still be £37. The trade price is fixed, set in stone.

Hope that makes sense

I picked up more stuff yesterday, £40 retail (half price sale), £60 trade.

Below is a link to the ''free'' item. Looks good. Really like the Advanced wrenches  :y

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_946417_langId_-1_categoryId_165572
The included spanner set is not Advanced, hence not covered by the life warranty.

The Advanced Spanner set/tray has recently been for sale for under £30, but only goes to 24mm (from 6mm, all sizes included).

I wonder if Halfords putting together the bundle of 150pc, plus spanner set is an admission of realisation that they have dropped a bollock by removing so many spanners from the socket set....?

You ordered one as well?......... :D :D tbh, you can't go far wrong at the price imo, and my sockets are a bit of a  miss match some 30 years or older; whether I need them or not is a separate issue....... ;) ;) :y
