I did, again, what do you want from the thread? A single post by Esta...? And no replies?

Its a pc in your pocket right? Would you accept the above from a pc?

<snip>

Although noting specifically what bugs us, would help. ....then looking for an improvement on those is a way forward, no?
Its unfair to compare a small ARM powered device with a full blown PC. With size and battery life come compromises, so its finding out which have compromises that you are unable to accept, and ruling that out.

What you really need is a PC

Android has caught up massively in last few releases, both in software and hardware. I think the 2013 Nexus 7 is a cracking tablet, the iPad Mini Retina is a better product though. Slicker and sleeker hardware, but it's the cost is the problem.

I've also seen some secret new Samsung Tablets due out soon, very impressive. Think they got the pricing right, should shake the market up a little. :)

Well said. I love Macs. All my home computers are macs (pro/air/imac) bar a single Dell laptop. But for the 10% more refinement the ipad retina mini offers, I am not willing to pay the 60% premium. Particularly as it is going to be outdated in 6 months time.

So that last 10%, what specifically is the problem there with Android? :)
I'm not so sure I'd call it a problem, but number 6 on your list (video playing in background) gets paused if you minimise the app....which kind of makes sense as you can't watch it if it's minimised.

All the other problems you list are not an issue with Android.

The only "improvements" I have made were to alter the Wi-Fi scan time from 30 seconds to 3 minutes, mod the phone app to include a record button, and mod the SMS app so it doesn't convert text messages that exceed 320 characters to MMS (SMS is free for me, but MMS is 25p a pop) .
I also made a fair few graphical changes, but that is nothing more than personal "eye candy" and doesn't affect the operation of the ROM at all.

The new Nexus 7 matches the iPad for battery life according to the reviews, and it also comes in at half the weight and price.
