Good stuff.

Unless it's waterproof (unlikely) I'd now spend £5 odd and get a DWR spray to apply to it.

Won't waterproof the coat, but will cause light showers and snow to bead up and run off the surface.

Sprays on, and means being caught in rain won't result in a similar situation as this one at the start.

Down is probably the best pound for pound insulator-but only when dry. Advantage of synthetics is they still insulate while wet.

Would do the job.

You can also get ones you add to the coat before tumble drying that are slightly more effective.

Yes it is waterproof. You're right about down, its a great insulator and super comfy.

Do these waterproofing products leave a glossy coating or a noticeable film?
