2.5 TD Engine weight
« on: 22 January 2014, 14:17:32 »

I've had a search but couldn't find a definitive answer.
I will shortly be getting my old engine back (complete) and need to buy an engine stand for it so it can be moved around, do I go for a 4 wheel 1000lbs unit? Will that be sufficient.
I used to have a 3 wheel version with a 2.3D 4 pot lump on but it was not as stable as I would have liked.

Hmm. It's not exactly a light engine (don't have any figures to back that up, though) and, being a straight 6, it's quite long too, so, if it's the normal type of stand that supports it from the flywheel end, there will be a lot of overhang. :-\

It won't be over 1000 lb, but you have to wonder how they arrived at that figure.
